五子壮阳汤能使幼龄小白鼠睾丸及去势大白鼠包皮腺前列腺与精液囊明显增重,还能使环磷酰胺损害小白鼠之睾丸重量增加,精子计数增加,精子活动率提高,并降低精子畸形率。对睾丸曲精细管细胞学定量分析表明该方也有明显改善作用。

Wu Zi Znang Yang Decoction was composed of Semen cuscutae, Fructus lycii, Fru-ctus rubi, Fructus schisandrae, Semen plantaginis, Herba epimedii, Cornu cervi pantot-, richum,Radix rehmanniae, Radix glycyrrihzae.The weight of testis in juvenile mice and the weight of preputial glands, prostates and seminal vesides in the castrated male rats were significantly increased by the Decoction. It has been observed that the Decoction could significantly increase the sperm count and the percentage of motile spermia and, decrese the percentage of teratospermia in the teratogenerated mice ,by cyelophosphamide, It was also found that the microscopic structure on those teratogenerated testis could be significantly improve by the Decoction.
