The developments and characteristics of vacuum metallurgy as well as its applications,current conditions of research and prospects in the industrial production of non-ferrorus metals are expounded comprehensively in this paper. Our recent years' researches and beneficial results in this field are introduced. Some of the issues worthy to be considered and applied are also presented.
