Effect of MDT in 52 Cases of MB Leprosy for One and a Half Years

52例多菌型麻风,其中27例 LL、18例 BL 和7例 BB,用联合化疗18个月,即 DDS100mg 和 B66350mg 每日一次自服,利福平600mg 和 B663 300mg每月一次监服,结果临床治愈和接近治愈12例(23％),显著改善23例(44.2％),改善17例。BI 在治疗前平均1.62,治疗6.12和18个月时分别为1.52,1.2和1.8。病理检查可见与临床、细菌的好转相一致,12例结节性红斑反应和8例神经痛者随着治疗之进展多明显消退。

Fifty two cases of multibacillary leprosy,including LL27,BL 18 and BB7,have been treated with daily do- ses of 100 mg DDS and 50mg B663 and monthly doses of 600rag RFP and 300mg B663 for 18 months,of which 12 cases, accounting for 23.70%,were cured or basically cured,23 cases (44.24%) gain- ed obvious improvement and 17 ones had improvement clincally.Their BI was 1.62 on an average before the treatment,and respectively 1.52,1.2 and 0.8 at 6,12 and 18 months of the treatment,and pa- rallel effect has been seen in pathological examination.Most symptoms of 12 ENL cases and 8 neuralgic cases have gradu- ally subsided with the treatment.No serious side-effect was seen during the treatment.The authors consider that the regimen could be used on a large scale.
