根据铜绿假单胞菌(绿脓杆菌)的生理生化特征而设计了一种鉴别培养基。在无机盐基础中以硝酸盐为氮源,以乙醇为碳源制成软半固体培养基。在此培养基上铜绿假单胞菌可表达4～5个重要性状而得到鉴定。其它相关细菌也能表现一定性状而有助鉴定。肠道杆菌在此培养基上大多不生长,这也有助于它们的鉴别。
