摘要
第四纪是人类及其物质文明形成发展时代.从农业社会以来,人类以比自然严重威胁着人类演化快若干倍速率干预自然界,人与自然之问的平衡在加速破坏,不利的后果正严重威胁着人类.由于全球增温.海面上升,地质灾害.基础被环境资源损害,已出现孕育人类生存危机的前兆.第四纪研究因深海沉积、黄土和冰岩心的研究、年代学方法的应用已提高到一新水平.将近论未来已成为推动第四纪研究的新动力.第四纪历史可以为环境地质事件研究提供了解现状、预测本来事件发生时间、空间和强度规律的历史参考系统.距今1.8万年前气候、中全新世高温期(气候最宜期)和十七世纪小冰期研究,有重要的理论和应用价值.第四纪是环境地质研究的重要时代.
Quaternary period is the time when mankind and civilization develop. As a result of mah's activities on nature, the balance between mankind and nature is soon lost since the agricultual society. Increasing global temperature, a rise of sea water level, geological catastrophes and damage of basic environmental resources result in an ominous appearance of living crisis of mankind. Quaternary study is based on deep-sea cores, loess and polar region ice as well as application of chronological methods. The study could provide historical reference system for understanding our planet today and predicting the regularity in time, space and strength of the future environment and geological events. The climate 18 000 years ago, the middle Holocene Hypsithermal (climatic optimum) and little ice age in 17th century are important in Quaternary study.
