摘要
A double immunocytochemical staining method was used to demonstrate HBsAg and HBcAg simultaneously in the same sections of 58 hepatocellular carcinomas. Several tumor cells contained both HBsAg and HBcAg. These results demonstrate that hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA in tumor cells can simultaneously express both HBsAg and HBcAg and suggest the production of a complete virus by these cells. Cytoplasmic membranous HBcAg was found not only in well differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma but also in moderate and poorly differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma. The localization of HBcAg in tumor cells appears to be the same as that of surrounding nontumorous liver tissue.
