摘要
Insect epidermal gland cells were reviewed and classified into 3 classes by Noirot and Quennedey. We studied the structure and physiology of the female sex pheromone glands in Clania variegata Snellen (Lepidoptera, Psychidae) and found that their gland cells did not belong to any of the gland cell classes of Noirit et al. Further results studied by SEM and TEM have confirmed that the sex pheromone gland cell is a new type of insect epidermal gland cell.
