The Acholeplasma laidlawii is a group of wall-less cells of procaryotic organisms. Since these organisms are simple and lack cell walls, they are often used as models for biological membrane studies. In a previous paper, we described the isolation and characterization of the Mg<sup>2+</sup>-ATPase of A. laidlawii membrane under the condition of polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis.
