Problems on Symbol Design and Standardization of Small—Scale Maps of Mineral Resources

作者提出了两份矿产资源地图的矿产符号图例,一份是符号使用现状,一份是作者的规范化方案。文中介绍了矿产符号的演变及现状、实现规范化的意义,提出了矿产符号及颜色设计规范化的原则:类型单一、图形简明、具有象征性、便于国际通用、便于矿种扩增、满足定位定质定量要求、突出重要矿种、适合单色和多色印刷等。

This author gives two sets of mineral symbols on the maps of mineral resources. One is the present situation of the symbols' usage; the other is the author's plan for the standardization of the symbols. This paper presents the evolution and current situation of mineral symbols, the importance of the standardization and puts forward the principle for the standardization of mineral symbols and their colour design: unitary category, simple pattern, symbolic, international, satisfactory to the needs of the expansion of mineral variety, the needs of location, quality and quantity, the stress on the significant minerals and suit for single and multi—colour printing.
