摘要
《地图》杂志作为一种学术出版物,其重要性与日俱增。本期刊登了中国地图制图学界向第十四届国际地图制图学术会议提交的(部分)论文,令人十分欣喜。近年来,中国的地图制图事业成就显著;作为国际地图制图协会的主席,我怀着特殊的兴趣注视着这些进展。
The journal Cartography is a publication of growing importance and I am pleased to see the concentration in this issue on China′s contriribuiou to the 14th International Car tographic Conference. Cartography in China in recent years has made impressive progress and as President of ICA I have followed this with special interest. A major purpose of ICA is to facilitate international cooperation in cartography and we welcome the active involvement of our colleagues from China who have much to offer to the Association′s work. Much of the work of the JCA is carried on through its various Commissions and Working Groups and through an active Publications Committee. Currently there are four Standing Commissions, nine Commissions and three Working Groups
