One patient suffering from nasopharyngeal carcinoma complicated with idiopathic thrombocytopenia treated by telecobalt irradiation and immunosupp-ressor is reported. After treatment, his tumor disappeared and platelet count elevated from 1.7×109/L to 4×109/L, Five years later, a second course of irradiation was given because of local recurrence. At present, the parient is still living without evidence of tumor. The author believes that thrombocytopenia is not a contra-indication for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
