摘要
新闻摄影作为一种运用摄影手段对新闻事件予以形象再现并附有扼要文字说明的信息传播方式,乃是大众媒体时代具有深刻典型意义的信息传播媒介。本文在借鉴斯图尔特·霍尔表征理论的基础上,提出新闻摄影表征系统一说,指出新闻摄影区别于其他媒介的独特性在于其兼容了图片与文字这两种截然不同的表征系统,并初步勾勒了这两个表征系统产制意义的过程。
As a method of disseminating information, photojournalism which combines visual representation and succinct verbal description, acts as a typical medium at the mass-media times. This paper, based on Stuart Hall＇s Represen- tation Theories, proposes the Representational System of Photojournalism. It is further pointed out that the unique feature which distinguishes photojournalism from other media is its combination of two different representational systems, i.e. image and language. Finally, the process of establishing the two representational systems is also depicted.
