On the Layers of Emancipating the Mind

继续解放思想必须分清其不同的层次。在思想路线层面,继续解放思想就是坚持十一届三中全会以来所确立的实事求是的思想路线;在三大主题层面,继续解放思想就是着力实现发展问题的新突破;在具体实践层面,各领域结合实际进行新探索;这三个层面相互联系,各有独特的意义,共同构成继续解放思想的全局。

To go on emancipating the mind, we must clearly define its different layers. On the layer of ideological route, to go on emancipating the mind is to persist in the ideological route of being practical and realistic, which has been established since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the CPC; on the layer of the three themes, to go on emancipating the mind is to realize new breakthrough in respect of development; and on the layer of specific practice, new exploration is to be made according to the actual circumstances in specific fields. These three layers are interconnected with each other, have unique meaning each, and constitute the overall situation of going on emancipating the mind together.
