In order to suit the market demand, the paper regarded Visual Basic as developing tool and developed automotive engine fault diagnoses expert system. The construction and development method of automotive engine fault diagnosis expert system based on knowledge are introduced in this paper. The establishent of knowledge base, knowledge management and inference mechanism are described especially.
