摘要
本文从“文明”一词意义的嬗变切入,以“文明戏”为个案来探讨现代性和都市文化的问题。作为一种探索现代化方式的文明戏,是非成败该如何估量?新文化运动者为了打造自己的现代性而刻意把文明戏建构成“封建余孽”,自己却陷入另外一种文明陷阱当中。在宏大叙事背后.女性文化和大众文化却融汇形成一个文化空间,疏离于宏大叙事却又无言对抗,成为一种隐约的政治表述。
This paper proposes to examine the development of popular culture in early republic Shanghai in the case study of "Civil Drama". Key issue discussed will focus on analyzing why "Civil Drama" failed. Another important aspect is a comparative study between "Civil Drama" and "Melodrama". In addition, women culture and popular culture together form a "Sentimental Community", which is opposite to the Grand Narrative.
