关联理论视角下的幽默言语阐释及其英译

Humorous Utterances and Their English Translations from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

从关联理论的视角,阐释了幽默言语及其翻译,特别是英译的问题。回顾了关联理论的基本观点并在关联理论的框架下分析了幽默言语的发笑机制。指出幽默言语翻译者的首要任务就是使译文最大限度地在相关方面与源语趋同。译者在进行幽默言语的翻译时,应以关联原则为取向,努力在关于目的语的认知结构中储存、提取与源语相应的幽默效果生成方式,尽己所能地使源语发出者的幽默信息与目的语接受者对幽默的期待相吻合。

This paper tentatively applies the relevance theoretical approach to the humorous utterances. To begin with, the paper gives a brief reviewing of the basic view points of the Relevance Theory＇, which underlies the principles of laughter-making of humorous utterances. It has been pointed out that the translators should be required to process the translation in the context of the original, making every＂ effort to match the readers＇ expectations with humorous information in the original.
