How to Tell a True War Story by the American writer Tim O＇Brien is a typical, post-modernistic story. Uncertainty is considered to he an intrinsic characteristic of postmodernism. This article attempts to analyze the uncertainty in the story from three aspects： paradoxical contradiction, discontinuity, and ambiguity.
