John Updike＇s Gertrude And Claudius is the pre--legend of Shakespeare＇s Hamlet, but this speculative novel is entirely different from Shakespeare＇s play, especially for the characters in Hamlet is completely deconstructed in Gertrude And Claudius. By inter--textual reading and comparison of Hamlet from the perspective of feminism, we analysis and draw to conclusion that Gertrude and Claudius is a new original text of ＂The Second Sex＂.
