Shortcomings of the Oxford Idioms Dictionary (E-C Bilingual Edition)

《牛津英语习语词典》(英汉双解版)是一本很好的英语习语词典,但它存在如下问题:1.条目收录的问题;2.条目义项问题;3.某些词条的英文义项的汉译不够准确(某些词条没有把握好义项的编排原则,某些词条的英文义项的汉译的信息量不足,对某些词条的英文义项的汉译信息过量,某些词条的英文义项的汉译过分概括);4.例证数量和分布问题(有的条目没有例证,有的条目的某义项没有例证,一个义项有两个以上的例证,造成不同程度的义项重复);5.例证的质量问题。

Though Oxford Idioms Dictionary （E-C Bilingual Edition） is a very good dictionary, it has some shortcomings in （1） entries, （2） meaning of entries, （3） incorrect Chinese translation of some English entries （the meaning of some entries is not edited; some Chinese translation information is not enough or over enough; some Chinese translation is excessively brief）, （4） quantity and distribution of examples （some entities have no example; a meaning of some entries has no or more than two examples to cause repetition）, and （5） quality of examples
