In Catch-22, Joseph Heller reveals to an irrational world us, and through the depiction of Yossarian＇ s struggle for survival and other characters＇ behaviors in face of the world of insanity, Heller shows his persistent meditation on the question about how to live a decent life when human existence becomes a sheer absurdity. Through the perspective of existentialism, this paper tries to interpret the predicament of human existence revealed in this novel and Heller＇ s reflection on it.
