第二次世界大战极大地改变了世界格局,英国从原来世界上的一流强国迅速衰落为二流国家,面对巨变的现实,英国一改过去超然欧洲之外的"光荣孤立"传统,开始逐渐的融入欧洲联合进程,但是,由于英国难以割舍的大国情节和传统主权观念的根深蒂固以及美国因素的影响,英国参与欧洲联合的过程并不顺利,英国始终对欧盟采取一种时而接近,时而疏远的外交态势。本文试图通过对二战后英欧关系的回顾,从中提炼、分析出英国对欧政策的根源,合理预测英欧关系走向。

Faced with the reality of great changes,Britain changed over the past Proud outside Europe ＂splendid isolation＂ tradition, beginning a gradual process of integration into the European Union. However, it is difficult for the United Kingdom to give up the plot of the major powers and the deep-rooted traditional concept of sovereignty as well as the United States of factors. British participation in the process of European integration is not smooth and the United Kingdom has always been keeping the diplomatic posture of dispensable distance on EU.
