Influences of Confucianism on Traditional Folk Dwellings in South Hunan

中国传统的儒家哲学思想在精神文化与物质文化的各个领域影响着传统建筑的发展;作为中国传统文化物质载体之一的传统古民居建筑,包括湘南古民居,受儒家哲学思想的影响较大。文章从"天人合一"生态观的村落选址、"崇中尚和"的中轴线对称布局和体现"礼乐"秩序的"干支式"村落空间结构三个方面分析了儒家哲学思想对湘南古民居村落建设的影响。

Chinese traditional Confucianism had a great impact on the development of traditional architectures in both spiritual and material cultures. Traditional folk residences including those in south Hunan, as one of the carriers of Chinese traditional culture, were deeply influenced by Confucianism. The profound influence on the traditional folk dwellings in south Hunan is mainly embodied in the following three aspects. The foundations of vernacular villages were selected carefully according to the ecological view, demonstrating Harmony of Man and Nature ; the symmetrical layout was arranged along the central axis, indicating the Golden Mean; and the space structure of vernacular villages was planned with the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches model, showing grades of Rite and Music.
