摘要
1932年夏清华国文入学试题"对对子",引起很大争议。对陈寅恪来说,出题是由于很偶然的原因促成的,但这一偶然却使一个学术人格突然介入到公共生活中,成为决定许多考生升学命运的人。认真分析这个风波,可以发现,所以会引起争议的深层原因,是陈寅恪所坚守的学术伦理与社会大众认同的社会伦理之间发生了冲突所致。从"对对子"所遭到的批评中,可看出陈寅恪所信守的文化保守主义理念在当时的尴尬地位,以及与社会潮流的距离。
A question in the Chinese Test for the Matriculation to Tsinghua University in 1932 was creation of a poetic couplet under the topic assigned by Professor Chen Yinke who made out it for an accidental cause. However, this attempt of Chen had aroused hot public debate which was actually originated from the conflict between Chen＇s academic ethics and the popular social ethics at that time. Criticism on Chen in this incident implied the embarrassment of his cultural conservatism which was incongruous with the prevalent social thoughts then.
