Amy Tan is one of the most remarkable contemporary Chinese American writers. Her maiden work, The Joy Luck Club （1989）, established her position in the history of American literature. It centers on the origin and solution of conflicts between mothers and daughters. Starting with the title of the novel, the conflict and communication, and the intertwinement and mixture, between Chinese and American culture, and the dreams and reality.both the cultures face, are analysed .
