On Features of Sentence Structures of EST and Their Translation

科技英语文体是英语语言长期发展过程中形成的,在文体、词汇和句子结构等方面都具有自己的特点。在他人研究和发现的基础上,利用文体学的理论和方法,主要研究科技英语句子结构的特点;同时借助英汉对比语言学的理论和方法,有针对性地探讨具有每一特点的科技英语句子的一些较为有效的翻译方法。

The style of English for Science and Technology （EST） is formed through the long time of the development of the English language. It has the features of its own in style, vocabulary, and sentence structures etc. Based on the researches and discoveries of other scholars, this paper focuses on the main features of the sentence structures of EST by the use of stylistic theory and method, and at the same time, with the help of the English-Chinese contrastive linguistic theory and method, explores some of the techniques of the EC sentence translation in each feature category.
