就高校图书馆面临信息社会的挑战应当转变职能进行了探讨，认为高校图书馆应当成为信息高速公路上行驶的载满高科技信息的高速货车，并进一步讨论了高校图书馆作为“信息馆”的基本格局。

It is discussed in this paper that the functions of the libraries of colleges & universities should be changed with the challenge of information society. It is thought that the libraries of colleges & universities should become the highspeedtrucks fully loaded with scientific and technical information and traveling along the informationsuperhighway. The basic structure of libraries of colleges & universities as ‘informationized libraries’is also discussed. The suggestions to the direction of work of libraries of colleges & universities are raised.
