中美拒绝言语行为的优选论分析

An OT account of Chinese and American refusal speech act

结合合作原则和礼貌原则,在优选论的理论框架下对中美拒绝言语行为进行了对比分析。对比显示,在两个相似的对话情境中,同一语言的制约条件的等级排列顺序基本相同,不同语言的制约条件的等级排列顺序相差很大。汉英两种语言制约条件的不同等级排列顺序反映出中美两国的文化差异。

This paper makes a comparison between Chinese and American refusal speech act under the framework of cooperative principle, politeness principle and optimality theory. It proves that in the same situation, the hierarchical rankings of constraints are the same either in Chinese or English. However,the hierarchical rankings of these two languages are different, which manifest various culture values hidden in these two countries.
