The Inspiration of IELTS Test on College English Teaching

雅思考试是国际公认的英语语言测试,试分析其试题结构、题型、试题内容,指出它对于大学英语教学改革,如课堂教学模式、教学资源、语言测试模式等方面的启示。大学英语教学应该从传统的注重培养语言知识能力逐渐过渡到语言综合应用能力即语言交际能力的培养,以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。

IELTS, as a well-known English language test system, is becoming more and more popular in China. This thesis tends to analyze the structure, the task types and the content of IELTS test, comparing with the present situation of College English Teaching in China, to figure out some inspirations on the reform of teaching modes, teaching resources and language testing system, etc. College English teaching should focus on training the students＇ communicative competence of English language to adapt to the needs of social development and international communication.
