电影类型学视野下的“中国式西部片”界说

On "Chinese-Style Western Film" from the Perspective of Cinematic Typology

与美国式西部片相比较,中国式西部片在环境、衣着、马匹、职业工具等方面可以大体对应。但中美西部片的视觉表现则存在较大差异:因美国西部开发较晚,美国西部片表现的是蛮荒的西部、统一的牛仔装束、老式的长枪等视觉元素;而因中国西部开发较早,中国式西部片更多展现的是文明化的西部、不拘一格的衣着和各种冷兵器的大量使用。视觉元素决定了故事的讲述方式,在社会矛盾的解决方式、人物的情感处理、故事情节艺术化追求等故事的内在处理方面,中美西部片也体现出较大的差异:美国西部片着力表现西方刚性的牛仔文化,而中国式西部片则体现出东方人独有的生存智慧和社会内涵。

in comparison, Chinese western film is similar to American one in aspects such as environment, dresses, horses and working instruments. However, they are different from each other in visual expressions. American western film, due to its short periods of development, shows a wild west, a unified dress of jeans, old-fashioned long guns, and so on while Chinese western film, because of its early development, shows a more civilized west, various dresses and sorts of weapons. The visual distinction gives birth to differences in narrative ways, settlement of social contradictions, portrayal of characters＇emotions, and artistic pursuit of story for Chinese and American western film. Furthermore, while American western film tries to describe images of Western masculine cowboys, Chinese one depicts Eastern unique wisdom of survival and social implications.
