A Cognitive Pragmatic Analysis of Obama's Inauguration Speech

人类的交际行为是一个涉及信息意图和交际意图的一个明示——推理过程,演讲作为一种特有的人类语言交际形式,在一定程度上反映了人类交际的本质。拟以关联理论对奥巴马的就职演说话语进行分析,分析其话语与认知语境、认知效果和认知努力之间的关系,进而阐述人类交际的关联原则。

Human communication is an ostensive- inferential process which involves both informative and communicative intention.Speech is a particular form of human linguistic communication, which to a certain degree reflects the nature of human communication. This paper, based on Relevance Theory, intends to analyze Barack Obama＇ presidential inauguration speech. It analyzes the relation between the language of the speech and cognitive context, cognitive effect and cognitive effort. And based on the analysis, this paper aims to elaborate the relevance principle of human communication.
