According to Grice, the participants in a conversation should strictly obey the cooperative principle and its maxims, while in reality; non-cooperation is a common phenomenon in the communicative activity. This paper, on the basis of the theories of linguistics, gives a detailed analysis on non-cooperation and the reasons and essence.
