An Individual-oriented Information System——Executive Support System

经理支持系统(ESS)的出现意味着支持组织内部工作的信息系统发展到一个新阶段——面向个人的信息系统。本文首先给出ESS的定义,其次在讨论ESS中Executive定义的基础上,指出ESS中的经理主要指组织的次高层而非最高层管理者。然后着重从面向个人角度,联系次高层管理者的工作实际讨论ESS与传统信息系统的区别。最后对这类面向个人信息系统未来发展作简要探讨。

In this paper, a definition to ESS is presented. After an Insight into the work of executives on diffent levels, it is pointed out that the major end-users of ESS are senior but not top managers in organizatiors. Comparisons are made between ESS and traditional information systems. The paper is closed with prospect of the future.
