Rationalism and Morality

人类走向文明是因为理性的觉醒,走向现代化则是因为理性主义的盛行和市场经济的发展。在人类走向文明和现代化的过程中道德式微了。崇尚理性容易成为适应市场经济的理性经济人而遗失道德。道德回归的希望在于对理性主义的反思,在于通过"思"向人生存的本真状态和精神层次的回归,在于现代市场经济的发展方向。

The human civilization is the awakening of rationality, and the modernization is the prevalence of rationalism and the development of market economy. It is just in the process of civilization and modernization that morality is lost. The human existence could be devided into two parts with both body and spirit. If one prefers the bodily existence, he will pay more attention to the material entertainment and advocate reason, and is apt to become reasonable economic man who is suitable to the market economy and therefore morality is lost in it; if one prefers the spiritual existence, he will pay more attention to the peace of mind, the harmony of the wholeness and become a moral person. The hope of moral regression lies in the reflection of rationalism, in the regression to the existential authenticity and the spiritual levels through one＇s deep ＂thought＂, and in the developmental direction the modem market economy.
