The types and fundamental reasons of asphalt pavement moisture damages, and the factors influencing the water stability of asphalt pavement, which were introduced in this paper. The pavement structural level should adopt the dense construction asphalt mixture with good water stability, enhancing the adhesiveness of asphalt and mineral aggregate. Asphalt mixture compacting criteria and the internal drainage system of pavement structure and other prevention measures should be improved.
