关于苏州钟表制造的起始年代问题--对汤开建教授、黄春燕女士质疑的回应

On the Beginning Time of the Manufacturing of Clocks and Watches in Suchow-In answer to the questions of Professor Tang Kaijian and Ms.Huang Chunyan

关于苏州钟表制造的起始年代问题,笔者曾在《关于清代的苏钟》一文中有过讨论,有学者对笔者关于苏州钟表制造起始于嘉庆时期的观点表示质疑,并认为苏州钟表制作出现在康熙时期。本文通过对质疑者提出的依据逐条进行剖析,认为质疑者的论据都值得商榷。依据现有资料,将苏州钟表制造的出现年代定在嘉庆初年是比较切近实际的。

The author of this paper has discussed the beginning time of clocks and watched in Suchow in the paper Clocks and Watches of Suchow in Qing dynasty,but some scholars thought that the beginning time was during the reign of Kangxi Emperor instead of Jiaqing.The paper analyzes the author's arguments one by one and thought the basis of those who doubted the time needs further discussion.
