被促逼的科学家及其诗意地栖居——对一篇英语精读课文主题思想的追问

摘要 以《最伟大的发明》这篇大学英语精读课文为案例,结合分析几个不同版本的教师用书和同步辅导的编写体例中存在的不足,本文指出:英语课堂教学中不仅应该注重学生语言技能的习得,更应该注重培养学生的批判分析能力。以海德格尔技术本质的理论为依据,追问这篇精读课文的主题思想,发现:课文中的科学家已经在技术世界中陷于被促逼的危险境地,然而,科学家最终承担了作为死亡的死亡,用生命去守护终有一死者在大地上的逗留。科学家"发明不是因为它实用,而是因为它神奇"的宣言更显示了他的存在就是一种诗意的栖居。 Using a text in intensive reading class as a case,based on the flaws in the compilation of several corresponding reference books,this thesis points out that English teachers,of course,should put emphasis on the students’ acquisition of language skills;and that they should attach more importance to the students’ ability in criticism and analysis.Inspired by Heidegger’s theory on the quality of technique,the writers go deeper into the theme and the main idea of that text,and they find that the scientist in the text has been captured at a dangerous position of being forced in this technique world.However,the scientist finally has sufficient courage to face his definite death.He sacrifices himself in order to protect the existence of the others.He even claims,'My invention is not for use,but for wonder'.This,moreover,shows that his existence is a kind of poetical dwelling in the world.
