Wei Xi＇s A Wine-seller＇s Biography collected in Yuchu New Collected Legend which is written by Zhang Han, a literary-sketch writer in the Qing Dynasty is an excellent biography. The protagonist Guo Jie was a common wine seller who gained his wealth through making wine. He had never cheated others and was honored as a ＂wiser＂. Also, he helped and supported the poor and the weak and paid the debts for others. Besides he could deal with his wealth wisely and face the life and death directly. So he is a benevolent seniority and also a far-sighted wiser. We can learn a lot from Guo Jie in the process of developing our social market economy and also in the promotion of cultural and ideological progress and a harmonious society.
