摘要
在伊拉克战争中,布什政府期望利用媒体塑造自己的正面形象,把美国政府打扮成"伸张正义的英雄"。然而,当伊拉克局势恶化后,布什政府的国际形象和国内形象持续下跌,在公共舆论的谴责下布什政府陷入了难以自拔的困境。以此事件为背景,对两方面内容进行了探讨:一是布什政府在伊拉克战争中,正面形象传播的路径和传播机制;二是布什政府在陷入形象危机时,如何利用舆论传播对自身形象进行修复。
During the Iraqi War, the Bush administration attempts to make their image as a hero who fights for justice. However, along with the deterioration of the situation in Iraq, their international and domestic image is impaired and the Bush administration is plunged into a dilemma under public pressure. This paper probes into this event and makes discussions on the following two aspects: how the Bush administration makes their image as a he- ro during the Iraqi war and how they repair their image by communication and mass media when an image crisis occurs.
