改革开放以来,效率和公平的关系问题大体经历了四个阶段的探索。党的十七大关于此问题的论述,找到了提高效率和实现公平的最佳结合点。我们要辩证地对待效率和公平问题,要始终坚持中国特色社会主义的方向,要解放思想,提高驾驭社会主义市场经济的能力。

Since reform and opening up, the relationship between efficiency and fairness has gone through a four-stage exploration. From the discourse for this problem in the 17th party Congress, we＇ve found the best combination point of improving efficiency and achieving fairness. We must treat the problem of efficiency and fairness dialectically, insist on the direction of socialism with Chinese characteristics, emancipate our mind, and improve the ability to steer the socialist market economy.
