魏晋南北朝小说中有很多鬼神故事,有一类和坟墓有关,且很多人还得到鬼的馈赠;还有一类直接说墓主自己出来卖随葬品。正如这些故事中有的人物所说:"此不过发冢取物,托以鬼神。"这类故事是带有游侠色彩的叙述者编造出来的变形的盗墓故事。

There are many stories about ghosts and gods in the fictions of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. One is related with graves, and the men usually got gifts from the ghosts. Still another says that the dead himself went out of the grave to sell the treasures buried with him. The writer holds that many of these stories are transformative sto- ries about grave openers in fact, as some characters said in these stories ＂It is just opening grave for treasure by means of ghosts and gods＂, made by narrators who had swordsman flavor.
