Being laconic, intuitive and easy to modify, macro programs are widely used in mechanical fabrications with computerized numerical control （CNC）, especially suitable for programming the machining of parts which are same in shape but different in size. Taking rough machining of an ellipsoid surface as an example, this paper has expatiated on the use of the macro program loop statements of Huazhong CNC users as well as the nesting method of the loop statements, thus offering a reference for solving more practical problems.
