On cultural transfer in literary translation

文学翻译涉及到语言、文学、文化三者之间的关系。由于文化在民族、历史、地域上存在着差异,文学翻译又是一种历时性跨文化交际活动。文学作品翻译过程中,既要充分体现文学作品的原貌风格和内涵,把握文化的传递与渗透,又要满足译文读者的需要。

As a part of culture component, language is the bond of culture as well as its socio-cultural phenomenon. Literary translation refers to the relationship among language, literary, and translation. As there are some differences in national culture, history and geography, Literary translation is also a cross-cultural communication activity. During the translation of literary works activitie, it is necessary not only to fully reflect the original style and content of the literary works and to handle with cultural transfer and transmission, but also fulfill the needs of the reader.
