Discussion on Calculations for Road Superelevation and Broadening

The calculations upon road superelevation and broadening were discussed. With regard to the setup of road superelevation, this paper proposed that the superhigh values be rationally decided on in accordance with the requirements upon horizontal force coefficient, road longi- tudinal gradient and curve location, and illustrated the relationship between them and clothoid and widening transitory section by calculating the length of superhigh transition section. Presented were the calculating methods for single-, internal-external- and multi-lane widening values, and explored the implementation of broadening transition
