《汉学商兑》“集矢于戴震”说

On Dai Zhen-Centered Criticism in A Review of Han Studies

方东树的《汉学商兑》,是以桐城派为中坚的宋学对汉学的系统清算,汉学阵营以戴震为首,那么《汉学商兑》"集矢于戴震"就很自然。中国经学史上对方东树多所贬抑,但梁启超却认为其《汉学商兑》"为清代一极有价值之书"。故就《汉学商兑》中"集矢于戴震"处加以申说,以对梁启超的评论作一注释。方东树的《汉学商兑》除了门户之见、私人恩怨外,主要还是经学内部的学术分歧。

A Review of Han Studies is a book aimed to systematically liquidate Han Studies, in which the writer Fang Dongshu wielded relentless attacks against Dai Zhen. The reason is not hard to find since Fang is a member of Tongcheng School, one propagating Song Studies against Han Studies, while Dai the flagfleet in the latter Studies. As for study of Confucian classics, the history saw reoccurring deprecation of Fang and his works. However, Liang Qichao saw the worth of Fang＇s book by acclaiming it as ＂a book of great value in the Qing Dynasty＂. By annotating Liang＇s comment through analyzing Dai Zhen-centered criticism, this article uncovers that despite the sectarian bias and private vendetta manifested in the book, it is mainly a product of academic division.
