当代中国的“士大夫之学”——序《学步集:杨自俭文存》

On Intellectual's Learning in Contemporary China——Preface to Collected Works by Yang Zijian

本文提倡一种相对于"博士之学"的"士大夫之学",它包含五个方面:1)为人重于为学;2)强烈的使命感和忧患意识;3)广博而深邃的学识;4)高屋建瓴的治学眼光;5)淡泊名利的处世态度。作者认为杨自俭先生的治学符合这五个方面的要求。

The paper distinguishes ＂intellectuals＇ learning＂ from ＂scholar＇ s learning＂ in that the former holds five merits. 1 ） It lays more importance on being a MAN before being a sholar; 2） It asks for a sense of mission and a deep concern for the country; 3） It bases its study on a broad and profound knowledge; 4） It has a strategic foresight and takes a broader view; and 5） It shows little interest in fame and wealth. It further suggests that Professor Yang Zijian is an intellectual with such five merits.
