摘要 本文是一项关于概念隐喻解释的实验研究报告。该研究首先要求71名大学生对3组概念隐喻进行解释,然后根据Riding(1991)使用的认知风格测量工具,将参试者的认知风格分为"综合/分析"维度和"言语化/形象化"维度两类。实验结果表明,参试者在解释隐喻时优先采用的策略反映出认知风格的差异:(a)"综合型"的人比"分析型"的人更容易把源域和目标域概念进行整合;(b)"形象化"的人比"言语化"的人更容易使用典型意象来解释隐喻。 The present paper is a report of an experiment in which 71 participants were first asked to explain 3 conceptual metaphors. Then their cognitive styles were classified into "analytic/holistic" dimension and "imager/verbalizer" dimension by means of Riding ( 1991 ) computer-assisted test of cognitive styles. The results of the experiment revealed cognitive style variables in participants' preferred strategies to explain the metaphors target domain with the source domain, the metaphors. ( a ) "holistic thinkers" were more likely than "analytic thinkers" to blend their conception of the and ( b ) "imagers" were more likely than "verbalizers" to refer to stereotypical images to explain
