当代中国文化背景下的自主学习意识探究——一项大学英语教改模式下的纵向研究

Autonomy in the Context of Chinese Contemporary Culture——A Longitudinal Study Based on Reformed College English Teaching

本文采用纵向的实证研究方法,在中国当代文化的框架内,结合学习者自主的教改模式,以52名大学一年级新生为调查对象,分别在开学初和一学年后对学生的学习责任、独立自主和对老师(权威)的态度意识进行问卷调查分析,结果表明:学生始终表现出良好的自主学习意识,这与当代中国文化的特点密不可分。中国传统文化中的集体主义以及视老师为权威的传统对于自主学习是有益的,在集体环境下或老师参与的情况下,学生可以达到较高程度的后摄自主。本文最后提出自主学习意识是可能变动的,教师应当结合当代中国文化中对自主学习有利的因素对学生的自主学习加以充分的引导。

This paper employs a longitudinal study based on reformed college English teaching in the context of Chinese contemporary culture. The results of the investigation show that Chinese freshmen in the university have high consciousness of Autonomy towards teaching and learning. This closely correlates with context of Chinese contemporary culture. The collectivism and viewing teacher as authority benefit students＇ self-learning. The paper concludes that students＇ consciousness of Autonomy is in dynamic process. Teachers must work as guides based on Chinese contemporary culture.
