Geranium, a common herb in clinical practice, had various pharmacological effects. As its major components, flavonoids are dietary phenolic substances isolated from awide range of vascular plants, which act as antioxidants and scavengers of free radicals, and possess nutritional and therapeutic value. Many studies suggested that flavonoids exhibit biological activities, including antiviral, anti-inflammatory, vasodilating actions, and cardioprotection and neuroprotection. In this pair, the pharmacological and biological effects of Geranium were introduced here, in case to provide some document basis for the further exploit and utilize of flavonoids.
