摘要
随着新材料研究与应用的不断发展，新材料的社会作用问题越来越引起人们的关注。该文通过时大量确凿的历史的和当代的资料与数据的分析，论述了新材料的发展是高技术发展的突破口；新材料是经济发展的基础与先导，是国防现代化的关键支撑条件；尤其是从许多新材料开发的思路、研究与应用的过程本身蕴含着崭新而深刻的认识论和方法论思想这个方面，论述了新材料对人类社会的思维方式、实践方式上的深层次影响。
With the continuous develoment of the research and application of new mate-rials,the social function of new materials has attracted more and more attention.Throughanalysing a large amourate historical and current materials and data,this paper deemsthat the development of new materials is a breakthrough for developing high technology;ad-vanced materials form the basis and guide for economic development and are a key supportingcondition for the modernization of national defense.Especially from the train of thought forthe development of many new materials and the very process of their research and applicationwhich involves brand new epistemology and methodology,it discusses the deep level impact ofnew materials on the way of thinking ard practice of the human society.
