Surveillance Vehicles Take Flight Using Alternative Energy

摘要 无人侦察飞机也称无人机,因其可以侦察危险地域获取情报且不易被发现的优点而广泛应用于军事。但如何能使无人机更高效更安静地飞行呢?目前,以一种新型氢燃料电池作动力的无人机进行了试飞。与传统电池相比,这种电池具有体积小、噪音低、质量高和无污染等优点,应用前景十分广泛。 Nearly undetectable from the ground, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used by the military to scan terrain for possible threats and intelligence. Now, fuel cell powered UAVs are taking flight as an Office of Naval Research (ONR)-sponsored program to help tactical decision-makers gather critical information more efficiently... and more quietly. Piloted remotely or autonomously, UAVs have long provided extra "eyes in the sky" especially for missions that are too dangerous for manned aircraft.
